The Dyson HushJet Mini Cool Fan has a compact bladeless design and five airflow modes, plus a boost button for rapid cooling. It can run for up to six hours on a single charge and weighs 7oz. It comes supplied with a Neck Dock for hands-free wear, as well as a charging stand, travel pouch, and USB-C charging cable.

The HushJet Mini Cool is built around a brushless DC motor spinning at 65,000 rpm, which produces airflow at speeds of up to 55 mph — a figure Dyson describes as up to 25 metres per second. The nozzle’s geometry is the key acoustic engineering element: its shape is designed to attenuate higher-pitched sound frequencies, a technique borrowed from the HushJet technology Dyson first introduced in its 2025 compact air purifier. The result is a device that, at its lowest speed setting, produces approximately 52 decibels of noise — broadly comparable to a standard floor fan or room air conditioner. At its highest setting in Boost Mode, noise increases to 72.5 decibels.

Unlike conventional handheld fans with exposed rotating blades, the HushJet Mini Cool has no external moving parts. This design choice — consistent with Dyson’s broader product philosophy — eliminates the risk of contact injury and makes the device safer to use in close proximity to the body, clothing, and hair.


Speed Settings, Battery, and Charging

The device offers five discrete speed settings plus a Boost mode, giving users a range from low-volume, quiet operation for sustained use to a high-velocity burst mode when more immediate cooling is needed. Dyson states the 5,000mAh battery delivers up to six hours of use at the lowest speed setting, with a full recharge taking approximately three hours via USB-C. The HushJet Mini Cool is priced at $99 in the United States and £99.99 in the United Kingdom, available directly from Dyson’s website and from Dyson demo stores. The Stone/Blush colourway is available from April 9, the Carnelian/Sky (red) option is scheduled for May, and the Ink/Cobalt (blue) version is planned for June.

At $99, the HushJet Mini Cool is meaningfully below the pricing tier of Dyson’s established product categories — the company’s air purifiers start at $349 and its hair care tools considerably higher — making it Dyson’s most affordable product in its current consumer lineup. It is also priced below its nearest announced competitor in this emerging segment: the Shark ChillPill, which is priced at $149.99 and also features a misting attachment and a cooling plate, two functions the HushJet Mini Cool does not offer. Whether the trade-off in features against the $50 price difference represents value will be a question for independent comparative testing.
